    Description

Starting from your accommodation we head to Drino’s valley in our 4×4 vehicles to enjoy our off the beaten path adventure. As soon as we leave the outskirts of the town we enter a ford and drive on the river bed among wild vegetation. Old stone bridges of ancient caravan routes, breathtaking views of the valley, and imposing mountain ranges will be part of your trip. We reach our first destination, the famous village of Labova e Kryqit, to visit one of the oldest Byzantine churches in Albania. You might try some of the traditional raki in the village bar. We then climb down to the valley and drive up a panoramic gritty road before entering Selcka’s Gorge and enjoying the breathtaking view at the feet of Lunxheri and Bureto mountains. We continue our drive among rich vegetation to reach Polican a remote village, were traditionally cooked dishes and lamb chops are waiting for us in an outdoors family restaurant. After lunch we drive off road among mountain valleys and lakes to stop in Nderran. We take a half an hour walk to visit the old stone bridge of Nivan, part of a late 1777 monastery complex. We get in our cars to follow the old caravan routes to reach the Accursed Shadow and then the Cajupi’s field of haunting beauty at 1000m above sea level . After refreshing in the famous Brati spring we climb down the mountain as the sun sets and the view gets fantastic until we reach Gjirokastra in late afternoon. You have some time for a quick tour of the town
