National Park “Bredhi i Hotovës – Dangëlli” can be considered without a doubt the natural lungs of southern Albania. The park contains 1,400 hectares and a wonderful forest made up primarily of Macedonian fir (Abies borissi-regis) with an average height of 25-30 meters. The park represents one of the touristic pearls of Albania, offering pleasant surprises year-round, and stretching all the way to Greece. Upon arrival at the park, tourists can enjoy a picnic near the forest station, which is located at the entrance of the park, or continue down the road to a freshwater spring surrounded by a majestic forest. There are no guest houses or formal accommodations, but it is possible to set up tents or stay near the forest station after obtaining permission from the relevant authorities. For trekking enthusiasts, 5 different trails in the forest are marked with colored wayfinding signs (GPS map available). For more information, forest staff are available near the forest station where the trails begin. Within the park, tourists can visit traditional villages such as Ogreni, Hotova, Borocka, Pagria, Kreshova, Sorropulli or the well-known village of Frashër, where there is a museum honoring the Frashëri brothers (Albanian Renaissance historical enlighteners).
