THE DISTRICT OF PËRMET

The entire district is crossed by the Vjosa River, which creates a picturesque view on both sides. The administrative district includes the Municipality of Përmet and the Municipality of Këlcyrë. The area is home to large natural parks, a valley with beautiful meadows and many natural, cultural and tourist attractions worth visiting and exploring. This district is famous throughout Albania for its traditional products and dishes, for example gliko, sweet, preserved fruits of many varieties (oranges, mandarins, figs, etc.). The town of Përmet is known for its flower gardens, especially the roses that gave it the name, “City of Roses.” With its many distinctive features, the area lives up to its reputation as “the Pearl of the South.”
