Visit Gjirokastra association participated at New Deal Europe marketplace and Forum, one of the biggest tourism events in Europe.
New Deal Europe gathered in one place 200 tour operators from all over the world in the role of buyers and about 140 tourism boards and tourism offers from the region of Balkans in the role of sellers.
New Deal Europe is the only platform in the travel marketplace totally dedicated to tourism boost and development in Balkans region.
Some countries such as Sllovenia, Bosnia and Moldova presented their offer as destinations, while there were presentations from tourism experts regarding the future of tourism seasons
Sllovenian offer was focused on “green and safe and ‘zero kilometre”. The last has to do with the short distance of local products who are sold in the area, without need to travel for several kilometres for import and export.
The forum addressed several key issues such as: trust of clients, global orientation of tourists, updates regarding the travels in global level etc
Visit Gjirokastra organized some B2B meetings with following actors:
Lovely Trip – A Slovenian operator which promotes the region focusing in Italian market. It operates in all Balkans and Europe with adventures sports, historical tours, culture, culinary etc. During the meeting they were very interested to know the offer of Albania the number of visitors they can bring in our country.
Charitable Travel – with 1 million clients focused in the charity travel were very interested for the region and asked for more information regarding Albanian offer. Their cause was to motivate small businesses to tell local stories
Happy Tours – a company which brings in Europe 1500 groups every year. They were very interested about Albanian offer for small groups in our Riviera.
Frank Marr – Marketing and Media Relation. A meeting to know more foreign journalists and influencers. They suggested more promotions from our side in the British market, which are very interested about Albania, such as The Sun, The Guardian
Cosmorama– biggest greek operator with tours and clients all over the world. They asked for a package of tours and activities from Albania. They accepted the invitation to visit Albania
Other contacts were with: G2 Travel – A Romanian tour operator; Albatross Group; Wandering Puffinn LLC (American tour operator); Absolutely Amazing Travel etc
This event and contacts were a great opportunity for Visit Gjirokastra which is the only destination management organisation covering in Albania such a big region as Gjirokastra with 7 municipalities.
