The UNESCO city of Gjirokastra- is considered the jewel of Albania and is the the most visited place in Albania during the whole year. The touristic products are improving and now not only the city, but the whole region, including Permet, Tepelena, Libohova, Dropull and villages around, have plenty to offer. Visit Gjirokastra - Tourism Board Association
The Visit Gjirokastra association is a non profit organisation, established in 2019 in Gjirokastra. The members of this association are touristic businesses in Gjirokastra, Permet, Tepelena, (including hotels, tour agencies, tour guides, restaurants, Academy, representatives of Municipalities of Gjirokastra, Permet, Tepelena etc). The aim of this association is to promote the destination, to coordinate the activities, to create new touristic products, to boost tourism, to attract more tourists. The board of Visit Gjirokastra forum association, held a meeting in October with the Mayor of Gjirokastra, Mr Flamur Golemi. The focus of the meeting was need for coordination of actions, events and all activities in the region of Gjirokastra to boost tourism and promote the region.

Tourism fair, Greece
Visit Gjirokastra association, with the support of Risi Albania participated in the International Tourism Fair in Philoxenia, Thesaloniki, Greece.
Food Fair at Zekate
Food Fair of Gjirokastra region organized in first days of October at Zekate House, one of the most unique traditional houses in Gjirokastra.
Kult art in Old Bazaar
Kult Art, was the biggest cultural activity organized in Gjirokastra in September. Music, culinary, artisans fair, all in one event, attracted thousands of tourists in the streets of old Bazaar of Gjirokastra.
Albania works the land
'Albania works the land' was a national event organized by Ministry of Agriculture. The businesses, members of Visit Gjirokastra association took part in this fair, presenting their traditional products.

A local solution to a global problem
A Swiss government initiative, RisiAlbania, has been supporting public and private tourist players in the southern Albanian province of Gjirokastra to collaborate and jointly manage the destination. Read more.
Tourism Fair in Tirana
For the first time, a group of tourism stakeholders from Qarku of Gjirokastra (Gjirokastra, Permet & Tepelena) participated together under one stand, at the Tirana International Tourism Fair, 5 & 6 April 2019 to promote Gjirokastra region. Read more:
