The first performance of this Group was in 1874, when this group presented the “Lunxhiot Wedding” in the National Theater, singing and dancing all the rituals of a traditional wedding in their region Lunxheria. 18 artists of this group performed with their traditional 200 years costume and brought in stage the unforgettable atmosphere of the folk music of this region.
A whole life on stage with performances, concerts, songs and polyphonic dance. They have performed all over Albania and outside the country: Greece, Serbia, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Belgium, Kosovo, Northern Macedonia, Montenegro.
They are awarded in many concerts with prizes and medals, not only for their music and interpretation but also for their unique costumes which are known nationally and internationally. The Lunxhot woman’s costume would be a honor for any civilization in the world.
This ensemble, rare spiritual intangible heritage of the province of Lunxheria in the Gjirokastra area, offers for every type of folk tourism you want:
- Concerts with polyphonic songs and singing dances, as well as folk dance (for an hour 200 Euro; for 30 minutes- 150 euro)
- Photography with group or individuals in the group (5 euro)
- Short courses for learning popular song and dance (for 30 minutes – 30 euro)
