In the framework of strengthening and capacity building of Visit Gjirokastra Association, with the support of Risi Albania project, an international branding expert is contracted develop a branding and an association strategy for the region as well as to train members of association. Mr. Jörn Gieschen, is a well-known international expert in tourism business & destination consulting in several countries: Croatia, Oman Cyprus etc.
German expert carried out a series of training with Visit Gjirokastra Board member at the beginning of November. Training was focused in two areas: marketing strategy for the region and strengthening the role of association and its sustainability.
During his stay in Gjirokastra he visited several attractions in the cities of Gjirokastra, Permet and Tepelena with the aim to get to know the value and build a solid marketing strategy for the region.
The second session of the training will be held in 9-10 December, whereas besides the strategic direction it will be a role division among member of the associations aiming to strengthen an regulate its functioning
Organizing private stakeholders and creating a Public private partnership with respective municipalities is the best-case scenario worldwide in managing a destination. This is the first example in Albania and is made possible by Swiss Agency for Development and cooperation through project Risi Albania
